Weinberger Maternity Photos: Boom Island, Minneapolis
After welcoming our second child into the world just 6 short weeks ago, this portrait reminded me of how precious the time can be before a family welcomes their first. When I was pregnant with my daughter, I remember that it felt like everything took forever. It may have been the longest nine months of my life. We tried to use the time wisely and prepare for everything. We bought the "right" things. We put her crib up (which she never used). We got the car seat installed. We did everything I'm sure every parent tries to accomplish before baby arrives. And then, after being 11 days late, she arrived. That's when time sped up. I know we hear it all of the time, but time really does go the fastest when you're watching your children grow. It's the most beautiful and heart wrenching thing ever. When people say something like, "Enjoy it! Time goes so fast!" I want to yell back, "DUH." The reminders are frustrating for me because I do know. I've known since the moment she was born that I was going to miss that moment, and the next, and the next. But just as soon as my heart aches for a previous moment in time, something new and amazing happens. Being a parent is truly the best gift ever.
It's always a treat to slow down and do a maternity session for soon-to-be parents. It was peaceful and fun to talk with this couple in between shots and learn just a bit about them. It was also nice to have a little break from jumping up and down and making animal noises (don't get me wrong, I love being goofy ;) Enjoy these images of Sarah and Felix! They are adorable and are going to be the most fabulous parents <3
